Recently, Ive started using some sponge filters, After ordering I realized I did not have any check valves so the only thing near me was Pet Smart and has hate to have done it I bought a Top Fin check valve. After getting it home you could not even blow thru it. I also went to a LFS in a near by town and they had some for $1 each no name brand so I bought 3 of them. Well 2 out of 3 worked. I recently pordered one from a mail order store. It was $2 so I thought it may work it also did not. Anyway I hate buying things that don't work. Any suggestions on a brand of check valve that works. thanks

Just to add to my post this is concerning a check valve for an airline. Also bought one from walmart that did not work.
You just spent $5 buying no name crap and all you had to do is spend $4 or $5 on one good brand name one, I bought one from hagen at lfs for $5. You should always spend the extra the first time and buy better quality!
My issue my lfs does not carry the better ones. Wish they did. I'll look for hagen when I order more supplys.

Do you ever order stuff online, you could check out bulk reef supply, they have lots of great stuff.
I order online all the time. Just now really had a need for check valves just did not know who made the dependable ones.
