Cheap DIY Filter....

i need a quick filter... all you need is a 2.5 gallon container , media, and pump

I did something similar...

I cut the bottom end of a 2 liter bottle out.. shoved a small powerhead in and then stuffed filter floss behind it...

water went from brown to clear over night...

good thinkin'.
