Would it be possible to make a smallish room about 4mx2m out of heavely duty tarp or polytunnel material my idea was for each wall to be made of a wooden frame and a tarp put on both sides with insulation in the middle this would be done for all the side including the roof and the floor will be cement and inside will be air heaters to keep it warm I live in the uk so would this be possible

What you describe sounds like a greenhouse. If heated through the winter it could work.

If heated would the tanks need there own heater because the hope was I wouldn't need lots of heaters to reduce cost and amount of plugs

I'm from the uk. I can't fit anymore tanks indoors so I've toyed with the idea of an outside "room" for tanks, or a pond in the garden. If you go the cold water route you're laughing, no heating costs for the tanks or the room. If you go the tropical route then the up and down nature of our temps over here will be an ongoing costly hassle, especially with the household fuel bills as they are currently.

Your proposed rudimentary building will, as mentioned, be like a greenhouse in summer, as hot as hell, especially if you have a dark tarp.

Winter, and you'd have to have the heating on constantly in your room, or the heaters in your tanks on virtually all the time.

Personally I think you'd get pretty sick of it and pretty quick. But like I said, if you go cold water you're laughing.

What sort of fish could I have then
Goldfish variety, maybe some catfish that can take cold temps, some cichlids too. duanes duanes might help with cichlids
kno4te kno4te Rocksor Rocksor wednesday13 wednesday13 with catfish.
Also tlindsey tlindsey .
cheap ways to heat the room
I don't see any cheap way. But If you could get a frame built where you could put on Styrofoam sheet and insulate the room then your heating costs may get down using a room Heater.
Better to wait get some cash and build a wooden room with Styrofoam insulation. Check Andy woods cichlids uk Andy woods cichlids uk 'S outdoor fishroom

I was thinking about either breeding or doing a large pond style build so what could stock ideas be and for a cheap way to heat if the tanks were on one system and the filter tub was for example 60 litres could I have I heater that would heat that container like a sump sort of or another idea is reptile heating cable under the tank aswell as heating the room with an air heater

Your ideas are fine but still won't be dirt cheap
