I was poking around on Ebay and I stumbled across these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/40125400746...49&var=670863915229&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

They were like 1/5 the price of most 3d backgrounds, so I figured for 20$, why not give it a shot, and I ordered two packs (4 pieces).
They took about a week and a half to come in, and I am pretty happy with them. They look just like the pictures and are sized correctly, and only about an inch thick. Lightweight foam, going to silicon them in place to get them to stay. Only problem was one piece came in broken, but since I was going to cut that one in half to size anyway (5' tank - 2x 2' pieces, 1x 1' piece) it works out.
Here's what they look like

Anybody else use these?

They look good. Post a picture when you install them.

Odd measurements and no tree trunk or root patterns but I could still use these, thanks for sharing.

Yea I wish they had more sizes, but for 20$ I guess beggars can't be choosers. And no tree patterns- but personally I find the rock ones look more realistic in general. Planning on setting them in place this weekend, will post pics when I do.

Do they appear well sealed then?

update: got these things in my tank and set it back up, used aquarium silicon to get them to stay. Definitely necessary with these, as they float otherwise.

I am happy with them for the price. The one-piece backgrounds are a little better, but these were so cheap I had to give them a shot. Not too bad in my opinions, I would recommend especially for smaller tanks like a 20 tall, these would be perfect
