Cheap filter floss

Poly fil works great, is typically $5 or less at Wally World, and you get tons of it for that price. Just make sure it isn't treated with any chemical for fire or mildew prevention.

polyfil also makes a compressed 10% polyester "pad",for lack of a better word, which is almost exactly like the blue filter pads that you buy in bulk and cut to fit your filter, they are just a bit thicker (maybe 1.5-2").

I switched to that stuff because I got tired of seeing strands of polyester floating in my water every once in awhile.

I am going to start buying that and ripping off the floss on my cartridge and layering it with that and fastening it with a rubberband.

Also try a cloth/sewing supply or quilting center, they have the stuff by the yard, in 3-3 thickness'.

Stay away from used pillows and such.

To use the poly fil sheets I cut the padding off 2 emp 400 cartriges, close them like a clamshell with the padding in between.

Do you think that will work for my Penguin 150??

Daniel

No harm in trying, as long as it fits tight, so no water flows around it.
