Cheap fish food

I use it in my koi pond. Never had any health problems and all my koi, goldfish, sunfish, fathead minnows, and my turtle go nuts for it and are growing well. It does seem to create a lot of buildup in my bog filter which might be a problem in an aquarium filter. Also being in an outdoor pond my fish get algae and insects/larvae on a regular basis. I had a RTCxTSN hybrid that loved it a few years ago but a move forced me to sell him. He grew well with this as a staple with shrimp and fish fillets being fed occasionally and seemed healthy up to 15" when I got rid of him. I will likely use this occasionally with my current SA cats.

The food that you linked to is what I would consider a very low quality commercial feed, which is mostly based on grains & grain by-products. While a koi can assimilate fairly large amounts (30-40%) of terrestrial based protein & starch, most fish cannot. The vitamin content is one of the lowest that I have ever seen, even in low cost farm feeds, and overall this is a classic example of you get what you pay for.

Take a closer look at the 3 main ingredients in the food that I linked to. That's protein that your SA monsters will actually be able to digest and assimilate, instead of much of it just ending up back in your water & filters as undigested waste material.
