Cheap glass tops

Just go to lowes and get 1/8 inch glass cut there....it will be thin but since its gonna be for a small tank there shouldnt be a fish big enough to crack it ......just silicon some kind of knob to make the front piece easy to remove........i did this for a 20 long before ....cost less then $10.....i even did this for a 40 breeder....it bowed a slight bit on the 40 but worked well for the 20L
I made my own tops using the cleat plastic decking material at Home Depot. It's on the diyfishkeepers site. Cost me $15 for tops on a 125g and I still got more material left over to do another 72x18 tank
What I plan on doing for my 220 is getting some pieces of 1/4" plexiglass cut to the correct size to put in place. I still wouldn't trust 1/8" glass. I just think that is too thin. If you bump it slightly the wrong way you risk breaking it.
