cheap home depot substrates?

ok i need to get rid of this nasty red gravel in my fahaka tank.

please post your cheap substrates from the depot or lowes, sand or gravel.

pool filter sand from a pool suply store.

cost me 5 bucks per 50 pounds...

yeap....POOL FILTER SAND...cheap, e-z to clean. and cheap and E-Z to clean.
just put the sand in a pellow case and wash, IT'S JUST THAT E-Z.....but yeah, pool filter sand.

The Quickcrete comercial grade medium sand, arena mediana #1962 is great sand. Requires no cleaning, no cloudiness, it does not clump together. Cost is 7 bucks for a 100 pound bag at home deopt. Only drawback is that the only color is white.

I used pool filter sand It doesn't get sucked up by the filter and doesn't get sucked up my gravel vacuum and as others said it was only 5 bucks for 50 pounds

I used King's Play sand, it is just washed beach sand so it is very natural and settles fast so no filter problems...

Pool filter sand works great. I rinsed it for a few minutes and had almost no cloudiness. You can't get it at home depot or Lowes though.

Call the your local pool providers....they have it. 5 beans a bag.
