Was curious if anyone has heard or used either of the following and what you or they think of them..
1. Jungle Labs : Co2 Fizz Factory
2. Red Sea : Co2 Bio-Generator
I think they are a waste of money. You mix up sugar, water, and yeast yourself for a fraction of the cost. Do a search on google for DIY yeast Co2 if you want to save some money!!!
Depending on the size of tank...For the past month I've been doing research on co2 systems for my 100g...Looks like I will have to spend about $140 on one of these:
my deal is I"m not even sure if I need or want to run co2, but if I do, the cheaper the better, but don't really feel like taking the time to rig some diy....
I agreed. It was fairly cheap, and it was certainly effective. The tabs last depending on how big your tank is, and how much water flow you have. I used a whole tab / day in my 125gal, which was certainly inadequate. I've since switched to DIY CO2, 2 2L bottles with combined output into a CO2 diffuser.
If I were you, I'd go with DIY CO2. Cheap, efficient...you only mix up a batch once a week maybe (with one 2L). I mix up two 2L, very minimal ammounts and they last ~12 days sometimes.
I have a small 10 gallon and plant growth exploded! I have ~2.6WPG.
I use the Red Sea Bio-Generator in my 35. I buy the refills but only because I just don't want to mess with mixing my own stuff. If you really wanted to you could put a DIY mix in the canister instead of buying refills. It's basically just sugar, baking soda, and yeast. I replace the mix once a month and only run the power head during the day to conserve CO2.
