Cheap ?safe? ceramic biomedia...

30% Aluminum oxide? Doesn't sound safe. But it might be.

This is probably no cheaper than regular ceramic rings, it's only 4x4x.75 for 4 bucks.
 
I've been looking around trying to find what ceramic the standard biomedia is made from, but no luck.
these would be a bit cheaper-18 3x3 tiles for 14$, but again, no info about the ceramic itself.

this actually stemmed from me looking for a better way to get Al***rog in the US than buying 2 lbs at a time through biorb for 5$ a lbs. I'll probably end up going ceramic rings through affordableaquaticsuppliesllc.com, you can get 8 lbs of rings for 31$ shipped.
