I have 100 pounds of pool filter sand in my 6x1.5 (125) right now and I was looking for sand that is a different color, I went on coloredsands.com and it was almost 1$perpound, I thought that was pretty expensive, but maybe that's just me, anyway just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for cheap sand

Don't order from coloredsands.com, they'll take your money, won't send out your order, don't respond to phone calls or emails.

Holy smokes. I think you've had experience here 'ey?

I wouldn't get colored sand. I'd rather get the plain whiteish one. Though I'm scared of sand period since it gets all over the place. Buuuut I'm sure I'll use it someday.

Pfs is like light gray brownish colored with some random black ones mixed In
I wasn't planning on using colordsands.com I was looking for a cheaper solution

If you go for paving sand aka kiln dried sand then depending on where you get it it'll be yellow through to white. It's washed and kiln fired so it's completely clean and dust free.

And before any smart arse speaks up...

Obviously not kiln fired as that would turn it to glass.

Pool filter sand is also washed at the manufacturing plant to be completely dust free as well as seived to be void of fines...

But when you put particles of equal hardness into a bag... throw them around during shipping.. .there is sure to be a bit of grinding that takes place... which results in the creation of dust...

i was looking for plain black or plain white or just a plain color for cheap? maybe im asking too much?

I doubt your going to find any other sand that is white or black that is comparative in price to PFS. That is why everyone uses it.
