I recently bought a 40 breeder for a bullhead. Is there a cheap easy way to build a stand, I was going to use 2x4's but the only power saw I have is a Jig Saw and right now I can not get any other power tools. Is there a cheap, easy way to build a stand. Would a normal dress draw work?
Thanks

cinder blocks.

they shouldnt shatter. people hold cars up with them.
just stack them. you can use ply wood between them to make shelves but you shouldnt have a problem with them staying together

Actually, If you know exactly what wood you'll need and the sizes you can get your local Home Depot or Lowe's to cut all of the pieces right to spec for you. Then it's just a matter of putting it together. You may want a Power drill for this part. BUT their were times when drills didn't exist.

Cost me $25.63 for 10 2x4's. My stand will be bult this weekend and its a 75 so you wont need as mush would.

*nods* I'm thinking of cinder blocks covered by curtains or a blanket or something like such. Coke pallets would also be about the right size if you wanted to turn your tank stand into a combination tank stand/bench...I've been thinking about that too.

Man my spelling sucked in there. To be hinest when it comes to stands why go cheap. I get worried about stands because they can go at any time especially if you buy cheap stands or build it cheap

Yeah its not that I can't, Ive got a power drill, just that my Lowes employs make rough cuts not accurate cuts. Thanks though. I cleaned of a desk thats made from solid wood. The top shelf is 3/4 inch thick at least and there is another support half way across. I think it will hold. Do you think it needs further support. The commercial stand are 3/4 particle board

doesnt matter what they are mad of (well it does) but you need to consider how it was build and what it was built for
