Small town near Toronto
In my area a 55 gallon costs 250$, and that's CHEAP!
Any good sites for something around 150 gallons that ships to Canada???

That seems a bit much for a 55. I don't know of many that will ship in the US on large tanks let alone Canada. I did check a company that custom builds in TN for you just now but they said too much hassle/weight. I understand the weight but I have shipped things to Canada before and it was no biggie. However, even if you got a good deal in the US on a tank the shipping would probably outweigh the benefit. Though it's not optimal and leaves you wanting, I think the best course of action would be for you to find an individual selling locally or somewhere you are willing to drive to. You could also take out a want ad. Go to Craigslist.com http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/mss/hsh/1052629131.html Guy states it's a 110 for $100.
I just pulled this up. check it out. Keep watching. Aquariums always show up. ALWAYS MAKE THEM MEASURE TANK BEFORE YOU GO TO LOOK. You'd be surprised how many people advertise a 150 that is really a 55.

My first tank was a complete set of a 55 gallon from walmart. It came with 2 lights, 60 gallon HOB filter, heater, a net, and fish food. it only cost me about the same $150.

I'm not sure if they have walmarts at Canada but that set is the cheapest I've seen. Unless you buy a pre-owned set.

Best bet is craiglist or hang out at your LFS and ask other fellow customers if any of them are selling a tank.

Some questions:
I am willing to repair; ebay???
Is craigslist reliable???

As long as you get dimensions before you waste a trip. The trick with Craigslist is you get to go look at it before you buy. If you don't like, you don't buy. I can't stress this enough though, make them measure the tank. There are other threads talking about how aquarium size is objective. Some people think a 55 looks like a 150. Crazy yes. True? Yes. But you get to check it out before you buy. I suggest talking on the phone also. I bought a 90 Reef on ebay but I had to pay before I picked it up. I got lucky. Everything was as it should be. So I'd try both. Most people won't ship so either way you'll be picking it up. But the prices are hard to beat.

wow, 250 and that's cheap. down here in my area you can almost get a new 55 gallon setup for that price, and use go for 125.00 to 175.00
