anybody have suggestions of where to get affordable LED lighting I can use for my aquarium?
I love the look of the marineland LED strips, but not the 139.99 price tag for a 4 foot strip.

Are you talking moon lighting or full tank lighting? If your talking moon lighting I use blue led x mas light from walmart. It was 13 bux for 2 strands of lights and is perfect for my 180gal. No regrets at all.

LED lighting can be done as full daylight lighting for a large tank, but is usually more expensive to buy. If you want to grow plants, the most cost effective way is still the T5HO bulbs. It really does come down to what you will want out of the lights. I would hate for someone to buy something and then realize later it isn't what they wanted after the fact (like happened to me). Decide what you want out of the light set up and then look at your different options.

Cheers

yea I am also trying to find a decent set of leds for my 72 gallon bow front, no plants just ton's of cichlids. Has anyone used the marine land double bright?

The double brights are great I use them on my 300. When it comes to lighting you get what you pay for. Sure you can light your 6' tank with shop lights from home depot but the marineland strips sure look nice :)
