Check for ammonia in brackish tank with freshwater API drop test?

Do I need to buy a saltwater ammonia test kit to get an accurate ammonia reading in my newly set-up brackish tank? The freshwater test instantly turned cheesecake color and has failed to develop any further during the five minute waiting period. There appears to be a solid precipitation out of solution, too. I'm guessing we have a FAIL. Just looking for info.

the API Ammonia test kit is for BOTH freshwater and saltwater.

However, the saltwater color guide differs a bit form the freshwater.

However, I think your readings are ok.

Oh, okay. I found a saltwater card with a different pair of test bottles. I ran that ad got the same color in the tube, but with the right card, it made more sense. Now I need to find some established brackish bb.
