thumbs up for a non live feeding video

you really shouldn't have those macs in with your natts, i would suggest separating them asap before you find half-eaten macs in your tank, they are great fish and i hate seeing great fish get eaten because of bad cohabs

i thought the music was funny... which do you consider macs and which nats?

Serrasalmus Spilopluera & Pygocentrus Nattereri

the natts are the p. nattereri and the macs are the s. maculatus

To be honest with you, it would be pretty much impossible to get any of those piranha out of that tank without destroying at least half the plants in there. There is a jeweled cichlid living in there that is dead set on staying with those piranha. He is such a nice little fish too, and i want to save him because he is always missing huge pieces of his fins. But he has been around since they were 1" which is why i think they tolerate him. I am also trying to breed bushy nose plecos in that tank.

if you care about your fish, you should do whatever you have to do to get them separated. they aren't tolerating your cichlid, they just haven't decided to put forth the effort to make him dinner.

to be honest, i think you are trying to do too much in that tank... if you want to keep a shoal of pygos, they need their own tank... if you want to keep two macs, they need two separate tanks... if you want to successfully breed bushy nose plecos, they need to be in a tank that doesn't contain piranhas... if you want to keep a jewel cichlid, it shouldn't be housed with piranhas. based upon what you are trying to accomplish in that tank, i would suggest splitting your stock into at least 4 tanks.

i agree with joe
and i no u dont wana hear this but u can forget about breeding plecos in the tank
piranhas should only be kept with piranhas
and to be more specific pygos should only be kept together
plecos are exeptions but thats large normal plecos
ive never had problems with them in the tank
but the bushy nose plecos ur talking about only get like 3 inches if i can remember? not even
and they would do better in a tank by themselves if your trying to breed
this tanks going to be a disaster if you dont listen to what we recomend
