I picked up the gar a few weeks ago from my lfs. Some guy dropped him off cause he couldnt take care for him anymore. I love this little guy, hes got tons of personality.
 
Awesome looking tank !! how big do gars ussually get ? I have been thinking about setting up a tank with some that or setting up a native tank with some chain pickerel and other fish of the sort
 
Well the longest alligator gar was like 10 ft or something like that but they dont get that big in tanks. If you want to have one for life you better start working on a pond :)
