i just got this guy. at least i think it's a guy. he doesn't get along with my festae or green terror. all are about 5 inches. how big will salvinis max out at? tell me what you guys think!

Nice fish..I say stick the fish in a seperate tank and breed him.....That Green Terror will eventually beat up on the guy....
not sure on the gender but salvinis can be mean little SOBs. im pretty sure they stay smaller and max out at about 6-7in, once they are all grown your green terror will be beat up mercilessly by the festae and sal unless you have a particularly aggressive specimen usually green terrors just cant hang it with those guys. when did you put him in the tank? there will be fighting any time you add a new cichlid for the first couple of days until they rearrange the tank's hierarchy so just move around the deco a bit and just watch to make sure none of them get any serious injuries or look too stressed out, got any pics of the other guys?

Looks more like a male to me. Males can get up to 9" as I had one that big. Females don't seem to get any bigger than 6". The females can get quit brite yellow with nice flakes of red and blue. Males tend to stay darker more like the color of the one in the pic.
If it's not getting along with the other fish in the tank that's probably another sign that it's male. My salvini (full grown) isn't all that aggressive and it's a GT that does the beating on him when a beating is needed. For what that is worth.
It's a male and i have had one hit 9" in my 125. But he was a hider so no pics. But he was 9" on the dot after 1 year and his mate was 6". they started at 2"
