Took a look at the brackish tank at the LFS. I don't know why, never really pay too much attention to those fish, but I'm glad I did today. Saw this little dude looking at me from inside a rock cave and decided to get him.

Can anybody i.d.? I have an idea, but am by no means an expert so would like some other opinions. Also, and tricks to keep this guy healthy would be appreciated.

I'll get more pics once he's comfortable in the tank.

Nice pickup! Its definitely a dat but...what one? i am thinking micropilis or thin bar but has a longer body like a silver. the marks on the tail will give it away to somebody soon.

sorry to derail...but he was in a brack. tank... is yours fresh? if so how fast did you put him in your tank because there are some nice dats in a brackish tank at a lfs...but I don't have a brackish tank...

Sorry, should have clarified. It was in one of the LFS's "Brackish" tanks. In fact, they keep all of their brackish fish in fresh water. They just label all the tanks as brackish so customers know that most of those fish need salt in the water. Right now he's in a tank with only a little salt, about 1 Tbs/10 gal.

Thanks. I always liked them but never really had a strong desire to own one. This guy had so much personality though that I couldn't pass him up. Not to mention, the price was right too :naughty:

He was listed as an "Asian Tiger Fish" for $7.99 :grinyes:  :grinyes:
