I collected this at a local reservouir about a month ago. The water level dropped about 20 feet or so due to dam maintenence. This wood was at the top of dam where the water level used to be. It was bone dry, however I still let it sit outside in the sun for a month. (i read that this helps kill bacteria and parasites?). I just soaked it with the hose and scrubbed it down with a coarse brush to remove dirt and rotten wood and this is the result. I think it looks nice so let me know what you think!

I got at a nearby lake called gunlock reservouir. I plan trying out some live plants and anchoring them in rock's on the bottorlm of the tank, I also want to get some java moss attatched to the top of the logs. What are some hardy and common plants that could I could test out? Preferrably cheap ones since my cichlids may eat it. I've never tried live plants but I've never done it. I only have gravel, if the plants are anchored in some larger rocks would the still grow and help oxygenated my eater without any fertilizer?
