Nice pair balton. I just got 3 of them this week and I might grab 2 more tomorow. Only like 2'' so I dont really know what I have yet. But I tell you, they are lookin' GOOD! Needed something to raise other than pikes.

SEXAY!!! Congrats on the killar pair! Hope you have a divider ready in case the males decides to go postal. Male festae are bad 'bout that. Randomly killin their mates for no reason...really kinda sucks. Love the substrate...looks superb! What kind is it?

With those photo skills, you need to get into some Crenicichla bro, you would love it!!

The female is the red one with black stripes. The forward half of the dorsal is black/dark blue on female Festae. I've never raised one to full grown status but they say the females get about 12" maximum size so I assume more like 10" in the aquarium. I don't know for sure though. Males are supposed to get 16"+. A life tank for a female? Minimum of 75g, a 6 foot tank would be better though IMO for a fish that's potentially 12".
