Check out this pleco

Check out this pleco, i think that he's a gibbiceps (?). I bought him at 1" about 6months ago he's now 7". he's awesome does anybody know what species he is?

Hard to tell in that pic, got a clear shot of it in the water with the dorsal fin up? That helps to tell the 'Common' Pterygoplichthys species apart.

Could be a Gibby or a Pardalis, they both can grow 1" per month if looked after well.

in one year my gibby grew to 12"'s and is now in my pond but will go in the tank for the winter.

He has got a very high dorsal fin and looks great but he's hard to photograph in the tank as he hides in his favourite piece of wood.

Probably a P. pardalis (A 'common').

Check the dorsal fin, if it's got 12 rays it's a Pterygoplichthys species, if it's got 8 fins then it's probably a Hypostomus species.

Doesn't really matter which one, care, feeding and behaviour is pretty much the same, and they all grow pretty big
