Some of you might have seen these guys before. They're called Triops. They are a horseshoe crab looking shrimp. They are also called Dinosaur Shrimp.

You just get the eggs, then put them in distilled water with artificial and natural light keeping the water above 75 degrees. Within 18 hours, little microscopic baby shrimp are visible and they grow twice as big every day. He's about 2" right now. They dont live long, only about 90 days at most.

These guys are awsome. They are fun to watch to. I had 3 but the other 2 died. They swim upside down and do cartwheels while they swim.

sweet!!! too bad they dont live longer....do you know if that is their lifespan or just the longest youve had them live for you? like those guys alot:thumbsup:

Yeah, I found them in the wild once in Nebraska and 'harvested' them like crazy to feed to my pikes...haha..they LOVED them!!

Rayman...they are 100% fresh...;)
 
no i think 90 days is as long as they live. Thats what i read. So far none of mine have made it quite that long, but i'm still new at it.
 
where do i buy the eggs? or get any at all :)
