So my wife and I decided to go to Red Lobster for dinner tonight. I was eating the talapia and my wife had the Shrimp, lobster, and asparagas pasta.. About 5 mins into the meal my wife gets my attention and shows me a piece of shrimp on her plate. My first though was she was hooking me up. So naturally I try grabbing it with my fork. She stops me and then turns the piece of shrimp over.

Whats wrong with the shrimp you say?? Well it was a large hair, about 2 inches in lengh and it had some curl to it. If I streched it out it would likely be a couple inches in lenght. I'm thinking it was facial hair. We grabbed the manager as he walked by and he apolgized for the situation and offered to get us another dish.

He came back a few mins later and says to us.. He was told by the cook that Sometimes depending on where the shrimp is from it may have hair on it, and if not peeled properly the hair sometimes doesn't come off. My wife and I were like oh ok.. but as we walked out and drove home we were like WTF I've never seen or heard of hairy shrimp, or lobster for that matter. I feel kinda dumb that I let them lie to our faces like that. I'm honestly considering making a complaint to their corporate headquarters.

We didnt end up getting the replacement for quite awhile and they ended up boxing up the plate and taking that entree off of our bill. I'm not sure but it seems like Red Lobster has certainly gone down in quality over the years.

Long story short... keep an eye out for hairy shrimp.

eeeewy! that is not cool id be like im eating for free or get me another dish w/o the shrimp hair

slight curl ugh i dont even wanna think about it

Just imagine the stuff that you DON'T see in your meals. I worked in a kitchen when I was in high school. Trust me the hair is the least of your worries.

that's gross but I've hears much worse.

Ive bought fresh from the marina Gulf shrimp that is still allive several times to eat while staying with my fam in Florida and let me tell you, they dont have hair! They have long antenae but I dont think you would ever confuse it with hair and I dont think it would curl up.

Red Lobster isnt what it use to be, not my first seafood choice at all. Too bad now that I live inthe middle of the country, cheap and fresh seafood just doesnt happen :(

This is why employees are supposed to wear hair nets. I'd file a complaint for hygienic reasons whether it is the least of your worries or not.

that is not only gross.. but it would have ruined my entire evening.. awful
