they dont get teeth untill there a little bigger I belive. the 18+"ers I had shreaded shinners and minnows.

i love bowfin they are one of my favorite NA fish they are badass they eat anything
 
there known for being the closest animal to a snakehead. Gona try and get some smaller ones tomorrow, but i can get big ones with ease.
 
have they spawned yet in youre area because if they have just get a net and scoop up dense pondweeds and algea in the shallows u should get all sorts of little fish it worked for little bowfin up in michigan last year

they normmaly start to pair off, and have fry around spring. but due to the wether changes and all the cold fronts im not sure how its affected them, but they should be pairing off about this time of year so its not hard to get a pair.
