I got my first wet dry the other day and hooked it up. Worked great but when I unplugged the pump it suctioned back through the return line. I know it will only go as low as the return is but it ends up being too much ( or very close ) for my sump. I was wondering if there is a check valve for 3/4 inch tubing or would I have to plumb it with pvc. Does everyone else worry about this? Is the pump supposed to have a built in check? Should I just raise the return? Thanks.

I've been in your shoes...wet aren't they

What you do is drill a 1/8"-1/4" hole in the line at the water level...it's not fussy...and when the pump shuts off the hole will break the siphon... :woot:

i use a check valve on my wet drys intake and return, but one day i forgot to turn the valve and realized that it doesent overflow with water so now i dont bother to turn them anymore

Del: I believe you're referring to a ball valve. Check valves are one-way only fittings with no manual adjustments.

They do make "check valves" per say for tubing that size. Very pricey. If you're interested in one, I'll give you the number to my store and we can ship one out to you.
