World's deadliest spider found in Tulsa store

TULSA,Okla. – One of the most deadly spiders in the world has been found in the produce section of a Tulsa grocery store. An employee of Whole Foods Market found the Brazilian Wandering Spider Sunday in bananas from Honduras and managed to catch it in a container.

The spider was given to University of Tulsa Animal Facilities director Terry Childs who said this type of spider kills more people than any other.

Childs said a bite will kill a person in about 25 minutes and while there is an antidote he doesn't know of any in the Tulsa area.

Spiders often are found in imported produce, and a manager at Whole Foods says the store regularly checks its goods and that's how the spider was found.

I used to work at Kroger and had to put bananas on the display every hour or so(since everyone buys banana) and I always knew that it would either happen here or some other place. I knew it, lol.

i have always wanted to own one...

so i'm starting to eat healthier and stuff, planned on getting some fruits and vegetables at the grocery store this week.....

....potato chips might make me fat, but they have never contained an arachnid that will kill me in 25 minutes

ehh no worries. The people who put out the bananas will get bit first, you'll be fine. lol

haha well i mean, i can get medicine and such for the high cholesterol, but the fact no where around here has the antivenom for this spiders bite...

...I'll just make one of the stores workers pick up the bananas for me and put them in my cart, that way i can see that there are no spiders on them

I work in the P-duce at wal-mart. I don't find too much goofy stuff in the produce that is not native to Illinois except a couple of black widow spiders. In my almost 3 years there I have personally caught 3 of them and have seen 2 others. I often wonder how many I miss so yea check it out. All of them I found were in grapes though. Grapes are kept cool so they weren't very active. Not very shifty at all. I'm waitin to get bit though cuz when you're going about your work you don't really pay attention and look for that kind of stuff.

K bye

lucky im so cautious with whatever i eat.
especially when i think food contains some form of seafood....i just dig and dig til i can see everything and make sure theres nothing funny in it.
