So im changing the media in my 60gal hob. My filter is currently holding 2 carbon slides ans 2 blue plastic slides. Im putting in tidal matrix, sponge, tank floss on one side. I was wondering if it would be more benefial to put chem pure green by itself on the other side? My LFS sold it to me said it could help lower nitrites. If not ill just put another sponge/tidal matrix bag/floss

Chemipure will pull ammonia, nitrite, and to some extent nitrate out if the water. I'm not sure what the green does. I'm guessing it's plant friendly? I've seen one labeled as blue also but the colors are a more recent change to packaging then when I used it. It was just chemipure and chemipure elite back in the day.

So I took a minute and read up on the green and blue variants. Green is for planted tanks and says it doesn't remove micro and macro nutrients. So I'd say it's a waste of time for you then as it may not remove ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate due it's plant friendly nature.
I switched from chemipure and started using purigen when I was using that stuff. Purigen removes all kinds of garbage from your water. I ran a desk top nano reef when those were just becoming a thing with one of the crappiest filter skimmer combos on the planet. I put purigen in the filter compartment. I had all kinds of acropora growing in it, a blood shrimp and a purple fire fish. I had it on my desk at work for just over a year before corporate came in and made me take it down. With out purigen I don't think it would have stayed healthy and algae free.

Ill just stick to two sponges and two bags of rocks then! Thanks for the input, someone said i could use the chempure to pull out medications so ill just keep it until i need it

Yeah it says it will. I'm unsure how they decide what it will and won't pull out.
