Hey,

I have always used Chemi-Pure chemical filter media in my tanks for years...In one of my cooler water white cloud tetra tanks I have decided to add a Madagascar Lace Plant as a solitary plant in the tank cause I have read that they prefer cooler water. While reading the back of the Chemi-Pure bottle in states that the product removes all the bad stuff ammonia, Nitrate, etc....It also states that it removes C02....Even though i don't run C02 would Chemi-Pure or any carbon be bad to use in a tank with plants?

Thanks

Howdy,

I am not sure why you need chemical filter media  What is the problem with your tank water? Regular water changes should do ...

Carbon is also bad, because it removes essential trace elements. Its only legitimate application is the removal of meds after treatment.
