just wanted to see if/what people use in your ray tanks for any chemical filtration, such as nitra-zorb or phos-zorb or any special ammonia or carbon.
if anyone thinks these or others are especially usefull products.
why/why not ?

reason i ask, my bro was going to toss out a 33g tank cause it is all scratched and and whatnot as he just bought a new one to replace it.
im now in the middle of turning it into a sump for my ray tank and am going to use it as a large bio filter and as such i am going to have alot more room in my rena XP4 and AQ 500,
so i wanted to hear some opinions if i should pop in more mechanical to my filters or if some other stuff would be beneficial?
the tank size that these are on is 150g, just a fyi

any advice is welcome :)

Chemical Media often do the same thing that large frequent water changes will do (remove dissolved organics).. so not many raykeepers use them.

If anything, I like Chemi-Pure and/or Purigen.. but I don't use any chemical medias, just do water changes. If you have nasty bad tap water, these might be more beneficial.

I have also heard good things about the product PolyFilter

Closest thing to chem filters I use on ray tanks is poly. Great stuff to pull crap out of the water.

I thought you were Kevaldo for a sec.. didnt see your avatar change ;)

LiuSu or however you spell his name has wonderful experience with polyfilter :D

oh cool, i've seen them before and they just looked like standard filter pads to me, i never took the time to read them, i just figured poly stood for polyester, as it turns out it does but has more to it that just that :).
might use this as a part of my prefilter for my new sump as i'll be setting it up fairly soon (whenever my overflow decides to get here...)

lots of large water changes and chemipure... polyfilter is great as well
