I have a 20g planted tank with a fluval 205 for filtration which has biomax in 2 of its trays and carbon in the third. I am thinking about replacing the carbon with purigen and was curious if anyone has used in a planted tank.

I use purigen in all four of my planted tanks . . . no issues, works great; keeps the water nice and crisp, and has not adversely affected the plants (as far as I can tell)
