Haha, you came here for academic chemistry help...lol

Chemistry was not my major, but I took college chemistry I&II in my high school senior year...a loooong time ago. But I know something about math and equation solving which is all I need here to solve the second problem (that's all the time I can help with because heck I have work to do here!). The answer is -285.3. Here's the list of equation adding and canceling for it:

CS2 + 3O2 --> CO2 + 2SO2 (-1077)
2S + Cl2 --> S2Cl2 (-60.2)
C + 2Cl2 --> CCl4 (-135.4)
2SO2 --> 2S + 2O2 (+593.8)
CO2 --> C + O2 (+393.5)

Make sense and no question, right? Great. Good luck on the first problem.

BTW, you should keep less fish and study a little more... :)

i did a quickie on the first problem and came up with -2043.9...very odd :screwy:

i actually figured it all out last night. but thanks for the help nate. lol and actually im selling all my fish this saturday to a local member, i rarely have anytime for my fish anymore and it sucks to part ways with them.

Actually a young friend of mine gave most of his fish (a group of 4x 4"-6" discus and a 7" marble ray) to me during his third year of undergrad (EE major) to concentrate on his study. And he refused to get any money from me for those fish.

Good luck with school bud!
