How big do these get? They look gorgeous. Someone has them FS on aquabid. Not an awful price if the thing will get a decent size. They are listed at 4-5". Was hoping they might get an upwards of 7". Oh and is there any difference in appearance between males and females?

4-5" (excluding claws) is about right for that species. And the males are a bit brighter, but otherwise there's not much sexual dimorphism, both will be beautiful specimens. They're a little bit more difficult to keep than the average cray species, they're a little sensitive. But totally worth keeping, IMO, they were always one of my favorite display species. Those and Cherax sp. Hoa Creek.

Thanks for the info! Wish they got a little bigger but I have to realize a 5" cray is pretty impressive due to their width. And the color on these guys looks wild.

Those Hoa Creek species are even wilder looking. Big fan.

Yea, that's a nice crayfish. Check out the Murray River Crayfish (Euastacus armatus)... that's an awesomely impressive beast.

I prefer rotundus :)
