I plan on making a fishing trip down at cherry creek reservoir in Aurora CO. this Friday and Saturday. Ill be fishing from the shore. Anyone know of some hot spots? I been seeing a lot of big carp jumping- could anyone give some tips on rigs to land some of these bad boys.

Sorry I can't help but I'm much in the same position and I'll be shore fishing the denver metro this spring/summer. I'll be buying a medium power spinning rig to add to my ultra light I already have so I can have a better chance at catching whatever I can out there.

I'm no fishing expert by any means so I feel like I'm constantly trying to learn everything I can about fishing here in CO.

I can't wait to get started!

What the fkkk... I live about 10 mins away from cherry creek and there's no way your going to be pulling out fish after fish right now. The current drought has been hard for the fishing. I have been going fishing at cherry creek for my whole life time! When I was around 15, around 5 years ago I used to catch my limit and my fathers limit of trout within a couple hours. But now its hard with around 5 people with two rods each to catch one fish... I have caught some monster carps around 30 pounds and its a great fight but without a big net you cant get it out the water unless you wana get wet haha i know from experience! Pm me and I can tell you of a spot i used to go for carp! But fishing right now is hard cause of the low water ):

I lied kinda I went last night and its pretty good fishing! Caught two big walleyes and even saved a big carp haha

edit heres a picture of a carp that was washed up. We saw him when we started fishing and 3 hours later we go and look at him again and hes breathing :WHOA: i shoved him back in the water and he floated for a good 15-20 mins and took off haha.
