I just bought 3 cherry shimp a week ago, and already have babies =] ! They are in a 10 gallon tank w/ an apple snail and lots of plants. i have read that many filters suck up many of the babies, so I took out the filter and just used an aerator. I was wondering if a corner filter would suck up any of the shrimp, since I would really like to put in a filter again.

what filter did you have ?

get a prefilter or just a sponge filter that should work or hook up a sponge filter to your original filter and get the extra filtration or(tights over the intake works for a quick fix

Thanks, I'm going to go out to the petstore today or tomorrow to get a sponge filter.
Meanwhile I have another question: Does API Fungus cure have copper in it? My 55 gallon planted fish tank got an outbreak of mouth fungus, so I added 5 packets of this stuff, before I read that the Acriflavine kills plants. I have since then been going crazy, I cleaned out 50% of the water yesterday, 25% today, and I am afraid that to much more will put me back into a new tank syndrome. The tank is still green-ish from the medicine. Here's my question: Does Victoria Green B or Acriflavine have any copper in it? I'm asking this because I want to move my plants into my 10 gallon shrimp tank until all the acriflavine is gone. And I have heard that copper will kill invertebrates. Also, does activated carbon remove this plant killer (aka acriflavine)?

I just read that the victoria green B does have copper, and I probally added around 15 mg in a 55 gallon tank, plus I did 2 water changes. If I also rinsed of the plants very well would it be okay to put them into a shrimp tank?

run carbon in the larger tank, don't risk it with your inverts. the carbon should take out all the med you put in.

No. Copper gets in everything and will kill the shrimp. I never use copper meds. It is said to get it the silicon and ruin tanks for inverts for the future FYI.

Oh well... Also, does this fungus remover effect scaleless fish? My pleco seems to be acting very strange, flipping over onto his back and such. I removed him and put him in a smaller tank (he's only around 2" now) and he seems to be doing better. Do you think that the fungus cure has done this or he has something else?
