So I picked up some cherry shrimp this past weekend from a seller on craigslist. His shrimp looked healthy, active, and a few were berried. I bought ten of them and he included a berried female.

Fast forward a few days and they just don't seem very active in my tank. They just kind of sit on plants very still, I'm not able to count the ten that I bought. The setup is a planted, fully cycled 10 gallon. Temperature is around 76-77 degrees. There is zero nitrites, nitrates, ammonia, and no copper. No CO2. Eco complete substrate. PH of 7.6. I couldn't find any drip tests for GH and KH. I have some API test strips that read 180 ppm GH and 40 ppm KH. Tap water with Prime.

I've read other posts stating ideal conditions are: GH between 3-5 and KH around 2. How do I convert my readings in ppm to whatever scale these readings are in?

Is there something wrong with my setup? I don't want to start losing any shrimp...

Shrimps love playing hide and seek with people... One day you may see none, next day they're all out and grazing away happily...

Where they all adults when they were shipped? If so they are acclimating from their previous home to ur tank and it's own individual parameters. They grow their shells depending on the parameters. Adult shrimp have a harder time doing this cuz they don't molt as rapidly as small shrimp, so in the future purchase juvenile shrimp around .5'

Thanks for all the input. I picked them up in person. They're a mix of juvenile and adults. I've counted two that have molted, but I think I've lost one or two tho...

I did a small water change last night, and came home from work and they seemed a little more active. Will keep a close eye on them for the next few days...
