Cherry Shrimp Pictures (and needed ID)

Here are some recent pictures of my cherry shrimp. The last picture is of some grey worm-like thing with a triangular head on the glass of the tank from last night. It's only a few millimeters so its very hard to get a clear picture of. Can anyone ID it?

That's a good question - I would be interested to know myself. You definitely don't want to cut them up! You will have multiples then!

Uh-oh...I cut the one on the glass in half after I took the picture

 

[Shrimp Voyeur]

Flubenol is used to kill planaria in Crystal Red Shrimp tank. Dose 2 mg/l of 5% Flubenol powder. It is available at the vet. Have used it in the past with no affect on shrimp.

it can effect snails though so be cautious of that

I cut down on feedings to once a week, instead of once every three days and the shrimp are doing great... and no more Planaria!

great job, that is my preferred way to handle it.

Another way to help with preventing this problem is to take a terra cotta pot lid and bury it in the substrate as a feeding dish. This prevents alot of food from going into the substrate and makes it easy to remove uneaten food.
