In The Little Town Of Bedrock!
Im planning on making my own fish food for my Oscar and i want to you if chicken hearts are ok to feed with all the fat cut off? I've read chicken gizzards are fine but nothing about chicken hearts...

So far the recipe will have:

- Tilipia fillet
- Shrimp (Raw/Cooked...a bit of both till all the cooked are gone)
- Prawn? (What kinds are healthy? )
- Bloodworm cubes
- Silversides
- Krill (if i can pick some up)
- Ground up Hikari pellets
- Apple
- Romaine Lettuce
- Banana
- Orange?
- Cricket

and earthworms for treats. Does that sound very good to you? lol Its all gonna be blended to a "paste" then mixed with knox gelatin.

Thanks,
Spencer

i feed chicken heart as it is to fish
no probs with that

Oscars are messy eaters, why mess with the paste and gelatin, I'm thinking you will foull your water just feed pieces of chicken hearts and pellets directly or are your O's really small?

Prawns aren't they the same as shrinp?

I think you should put some chopped garlic on the chicken hearts, skewer them and grill them up. A much better option then giving them to the oscars imo. Like Mr Pleco said pieces would work better.

It sounds like a good idea, but I think it will be more expensive than a quality pellet considering your time/money investment.

I tried Chicken hearts and IMO then are very greasy, they oiled up the water surface a lot,, the fish did like them though.
