CHICLID?!?!

i was looking on amazon.com for a good fish book, and i came across The Everything Tropical Fish Book. This is a published book, and it repeatedly spells cichlid like chiclid. it makes them sound like gum!

has anybody seen anything like this anywhere else? share your thoughts

lol well they are spelling it wrong then.
It's the family Cichlidae so it's easy to see how to spell it. That's a pretty big typo for a book on fish.

All books should be reviewed before being published. The errors alone can cause big impact on the way beginners learn.

egads i would worry about the other info in the book....and wonder with the rest, how old is this book??? who wrote/published it?

search for the book on www.amazon.com. the thing i am worried about is how many people call cichlids chiclids because of this book! this kind of thing is rediculous, but what can you do about it?

I wouldn't trust that book to be honest, there are plenty more out there...

Many people pronounce things wrong or differently in fishkeeping anyway...
