Hi Guys,
It has been quite a while since I have engaged in these forums and with my hobby in general.
The truth is I nearly gave up fishkeeping due to the temperature problems I have been having. Over the last couple of years, here in Australia, we have had quite a high jump in temperature rises with some days and weeks an average of 40 celcius. I have lost a number of my beloved fish, contemplated selling up and almost went through with it.
I can't do it and don't want too. I love this hobby and decided I will invest whatever is necessary.
At the moment, as a way of combating the temp rises I have my tank set to 30 celcius to avoid temp jumps. To be honest since the temp has been set to this I have not seen much growth in my fish.
I am looking at purchasing a chiller as it is the only option. My tank is kept in a sunhouse extension of my home where the surrounds are all glass windows. There is no room to keep my tank anywhere else. I am prepared to purchase an expensive chiller but I want to make sure I get the right equipment
Does anyone have any feedback who has experienced the same issues? What should I look for in a chiller other then the litres it can handle? Any makes that are reliable? For instance - ehiem has established quite a name to its filter range so i want something that carries a trusted name since i will be investing a decent amount towards this unit
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated
