I managed to get a brand new chiller to use from a friend. Cool hey!!! Pardon the pun.....:grinno: (Not gunna give it back) :naughty:
My first one...........

I'll be running approx 6 x 15gal tall tanks of it. Thinking of putting it beside a sump tank and flowing in & out of that???

It recommends a flow rate of 600 ~ 2200 L/hr........
What is better & why??? Lower flow rate or higher???
Cheers

Make sure you plumb the chiller after you sump and heaters. It's really important that the chiller be after the heaters just to make sure the heaters don't heat up the tank. :naughty: Ok, so I got nothin' to add.

However, I find it ironic that I always take flak for not running heaters.

Do you think I should run the chiller & my tanks off one large pump with plumbing to the chiller from the main return line or would it be better to have 2 pumps running...
One large pump for my tank return & a smaller pump going from the sump to the chiller & back.???

You can normally do it either way. Check to see if the chiller has a maximum flow rating. If it is a small chiller with a flow rating less than your pump output, you will want to use the two pump method.

Chiller is Hailea 250A model. Max FR 2200 L/hr.

I have an Eheim Compact 5000 L/hr pump for my tank return.

I think the 2 pump method will be the simplest. Have to get a 2000 aswell.

Testing it out on a small set up. Works real good...
The air temp here today is around 24 deg. Celcius......Water temp originally 23.4 deg C.

Can't believe how quiet it is.....even when the compressor kicks in.
The air bubblers are louder!!!
