At what size did he start getting his blue color. I have a 4in supposed male but he's still very green.

About 3" I have a trio and some mature S. Fryeri in the tank which are also Blue which may have help him turn blue quicker .. when he is stressed he will revert back to the silver shade like the females. He is at least 7" now. here is a pic of a female
