Just checking in as I do every once so often. With college I havnt spent as much time on keeping native aquarium fish as I would like. I currently still have a Redspotted Sunfish and a Green sunfish. I would love to re-expand my collection but with out knowing where ill be going to school in the next few years I find it not so easy. This year I may buy a seine and do some collecting. I see many new members on here but still some old names around. In college I am studing for fisheries so even though I dont have time to keep native species I get to learn about them. I guess thats all to say. Ill try to stay active on here and get some new tank shots around but no promises.

Go to a college that has a lake. That way, you can collect fish and it won't be a long trip back to your dorm tank!

I still live at home its only a 20 min drive to the college. The college I plan to transfer to has the St. Marys river right on campass along with a fish hatchery. ;)

What a lucky thing :) see youre listing Ospots as one of the fish you keep, love those little guys, i had a couple for about a year, they did well, but are not available where i live, or at least i havent found them lol
I used to have Ospots untill the main red spot killed them. That is why he is in a tank by him self know :grinno:.

Oh you're going to Lake St? Nice choice. If I had it to do over I would have chosen to go there too. The hunting and fishing possibilities are endless. I have a couple friends who went there and they loved it.

Theres also Baned and Blackbaned "micro" sunfish. I've never kept them. But they are incredibly colored.
