I have a Chinese Algae Eater, about 5"-6", in a tank with 5 baby Bala Sharks, all around 1"-2".

I feed the Bala's a mix of Shrimp Pellets and a variety of frozen food such as baby brine shrimp, bloodworms, etc.

I usualy drop 2 algae wafers in the tank, 1 in the morning, 1 at night. I place them in the CAE's cave, where only he seems to go.

Problem is, the Bala's are greedy little things, and as soon as i turn around, i find them nibbling on the wafer, stealing it from the CAE.

So, what is a good food i can feed to the CAE, that the Balas would ignore, or wont eat? (I usually take pretty good care of my tank, so there is veeery little algae, if any at all.)

Thanks..

Bump. I read that Plecos like to eat off of driftwood. Will CAE's do the same? I have a local source (the river) where i can get a lot of driftwood if need be.

If so, will any kind work? Or should i look for a specific type of wood?
