I have one in my grow out tank for Algae control, but I read online they don't really eat Algae that much, is that true? And he's getting aggressive, can they actually kill my fish aka One Dempsey and One Convict about Inch long?

As they get bigger they tend to lose the algae eating habit more. They can also be quite troublesome when bigger. Never had any major issues with any I've had, but they can suck the slime coat on larger fish.
Mine is a big fat Brut, but he tends to not direct his aggression. And its true not good for cleaning tanks they kinda just suck around for left over food then when the get bigger the stop doing that all together. I do have to say they are amusing as hell and it wont kill the other fish from my experience they start off tough then they back down and hide once the other fish start biting back. good luck with the fatty
