hey guys for some reason i been havin bad luck with these guys.have had 6 and they seem to be dieing. two with a filter change but left the old filter running so i could avoid an amonia spike.i have in my a tank 40 baby texas about 2 weeks old the some other older ones. the rest are still alive but the algea eaters are dead why i dont know. them seem to be really sensitive to water change. any thoughts?????

Need more info. Water parameters? Tank size? Filtration? Tank maintenance schedule? What do you do for quarrantine of newly acquired fish?

10 gal the new babies have been in the tank for 3 days water normal temp about 72f running a sponge filter sized for a 40 gal ph is at 7.2 and no did not quarrantine if you take in account the 3 days they where in there before i added the new filter. and if i had an amonia spike why didnt anything else die.on thing i for got to mention water was murky

if it ant broke dont fix it

how new is the tank? do you have algae or another plant food source for bottom dwellers? do you have live plants with CO2? what is your substrate?

water smell i'm going to do some water test to see but why didin't any thing else die???
tank is empy just a few ornaments

The fact that your larger fish are dying and your smaller fish are not suggests to me that it may be an oxygen issue. I'm not really sure, but I would think if it was a water quality/disease issue, your baby tetras would be the first to go. Good luck.
