hello i have two chinese fire belly newts male and female. The male seems to be quite grumpy towards the female, at first they were nice to each other when i got them. And the male would try n seduce her etc. she wouldn't have it. however now, whenever the female touches the aquarium floor he gets all annoyed and tries to bite her. so now she stays on a piece of wood near the surface and he guards the floor. why is this?

hes just being territorial if it gets much worse take them both out reorganize all the stuff in the tank the n put them back in .try to set up two areas so they can be away from each other

Right i'll try that.. its just these bites to her tail he keeps giving, they freak me out. I Mean they don't really have teeth do they?
