Hi. I recently purchased a Chinese Hi-fin Banded Shark. I'm not sure if he's considered a bottomfeeder, but I was wondering what it eats. I have researched it a good bit and I've gotten mixed results. Does anyone know for sure or have any experience with them? Thanks.

I would try bloodworms and maybe brine shrimp. Also, be sure to keep your tank cool. High fin loaches like a cool tank, which is often unrealized, and leads to sad things.
they prefer water temps about like a gold fish and love blanched zuchinni.. oh yeah i forgot they get huge!!

even though they like cool tanks. every lfs keeps them in tropical tanks...if yours was in a tropical tank when you bought him don't switch him. i've seen them in 85F discus tanks.LBathory;2115323; said:

I have found that their metabolisms speed up in warmer water, more than their appetites to eat do, so they tend not to eat enough and wither away very slowly. Havent kept them above 80 though.
