is it okay if i put a small 2 inch chinese perch in a discus tank with 6 2 inch discus. the chinese perch is getting punked by my tangaikayn perch in my 100 gal so i had to put it somewhere. and im power feeding my discus anyways so mine as well get the chinese on the feedings too.

The perch WILL eat whatever will fit in its mouth and trust me......their mouths are huge!

I have a big chinese perch and he wont cause problems but will snack on anything he can....again, their mouths are larger than they look. much larger.

Also, what temp are you keeping the discus at? while the perch can survive in fairly warm water, it will thrive in cooler water.

My 2-3" S. chuatsi ate the other perch I got at the same time. Then, I started noticing I was missing several 3-4" irridescent sharks and the perch always looked full. Now, the perch only goes in with fish twice his size.

IF u want to BREED Discus.kepp only Discus in that tank

and never stck anything in your nose but your elbow

The perch will eventually eat the discus if it doesnt boil first.

im just putting it in there till i coudl put it back into my 100. im tryin to power feed it to make it catch up to around my tanganikyan perch so it would be compatible. and princley my discus are only 2-3 inches it will be about a month or 2 till they coudl breed

If they are 2 inches its gonna take more than a month before they breed :)

i hope itl be around that long. im feeding 4 times a day and water changes everyday tryin to make them grow as fast as possible.
