Just a random thought in my mind but I know chipokae are very threatened in the wild and also they are pretty cool fish. Now they are also very aggressive fish but I was wondering if anyone tried a species tank just for them to preserve this species. Aggression will probably be the biggest barrier, so I likely will not add any other fish but I may add larger mbunas like crabro or zebra chilumba if possible. To minimize aggression, I'd try to house them like tropheus/demasoni using large groups so that there's no single fish targeted and I'll probably go with a 6 foot tank for enough space
Is a species tank even possible?

A species tank is workable but you may end up with one male in the tank.
